Lodestar Business Solutions ("Lodestar") began operations in 1999 as Financial Systems Consulting Pty Ltd "FSC". FSC was established by John Wallace, who after 20 years experience in senior finance positions in the financial services industry, was ready for the new challenge of running his own business. FSC was contracted to help with the implementation of the SAP General Ledger at Mercantile Mutual (now ING) followed by the strategic implementation of GST. John lead the GST lobbying on behalf of the Life Insurance Industry which saw the industry fully input taxed resulting in savings of millions of dollars in computer software development costs.
In 2006 Lodestar recognised a gap in high quality business management and back office solutions for small businesses. By September 2006 Lodestar had agreed to terms with RetireInvest, one of Australia's largest financial planning groups, to manage the back office operations for 13 of its franchised offices.
Lodestar's objective is to improve and simplify your business back office and financial management operations by putting in place high quality and robust processes. We aim to make life easier for the business owners by limiting the amount of their management time on non-core activities and significantly reducing the cost of those activities. We complement our back office solutions with high quality management reporting and consulting designed to help you better understand your business and reach your business growth objectives.
Lodestar Business Solutions is an Australian Taxation Office Registered BAS Agent. Only Registered BAS Agents are able to provide BAS Services. The BAS Agent Legislation which commenced on 1st April 2010 will require most independent bookkeepers to attain registration as a BAS Agent for which minimum educational qualifications are required.

John Wallace - Managing Director
Accountant & Software Designer with 30 years experience in the Financial Services industry with companies including NZI, Westpac Life, AMP and ING. John founded the business in 1999 and has since lead the development of various finance systems for Westpac Life and ING. As Managing Director, he is the primary relationship contact for Lodestar clients and personally accountable for service quality.
Matthew Games - Principal
Chartered Accountant with 7 years experience in the financial services industry with companies including ING, RetireInvest and Macquarie. In addition to his position as Director, Matt is Lodestar's subject matter expert for the financial planning industry having setup and managed the financial operations of numerous dealer groups and practices.
Andrew Gregory - Tax Consultant
Accountant and Registered Tax Agent with over 35 years experience in the Financial Services Industry providing taxation services to major industry participants including Westpac, Zurich, HCF, Swiss Re and Cologne Re. Andrew specialises in providing specialist tax services to small to medium businesses and superannuation funds.
Shane Wallace - Consultant
Senior Bookkeeper - also currently undertaking Bachelor of Law and Commerce degrees at Wollongong University.
